Fabricated words & logos

A channel letter is a three-dimensional, individually fabricated letter or logo used in signage. Typically made from aluminum with an acrylic or metal face, many include internal LED lighting for a clean, even glow.

You’ll most often see channel letters on building exteriors like storefronts and office facades, but they’re also used indoors in lobbies, reception areas, and retail spaces as dimensional branding elements, with or without lighting.

  • FACE-LIT

    Traditional channel letters use illuminated acrylic faces to project bright, highly legible light outward. This style offers maximum visibility and is ideal for storefronts, retail centers, and roadside signage. Also called front-lit.

  • HALO-LIT

    Also known as reverse-lit letters, halo-lit channel letters project light behind the letterforms, creating a soft glow on the wall surface. This approach produces a refined architectural effect and emphasizes depth and dimension.

    FULL ILLUMINATION

    Chunky, playful letters made from thick acrylic for full-bodied light. Used primarily in modern shopping and dining districts, this is a fresh approach to lighted signage.

  • OPEN-FACE

    Open-face channel letters expose the lighting element itself often neon, led tubing or marquee bulbs. This style is especially popular for restaurants, bars, and entertainment districts.

    EDGE LIT

    Crisp outlines of light are created using concealed LEDs that illuminate the edges of acrylic or translucent materials. Often used for contemporary architectural signage where a refined glow and sharp letter definition are desired. Also called side-lit.

  • MIRROR & CHROME

    Highly polished metal faces create a reflective surface that interacts with surrounding light and architecture. Mirror finishes are often used in hospitality, retail, and contemporary storefronts.

  • PAINTED

    Custom painted aluminum letters ensure color accuracy with brand standards. Automotive-grade coatings provide long-term durability and resistance to fading, corrosion, and weather.

  • PERFORATED

    Perforated returns add texture and visual depth while allowing subtle light to escape through the sides of the letters, producing a dynamic lighting effect as viewers move past the sign.

Face Lit lettering Options

  • Traditional

    A time-tested construction method using colored acrylic faces framed by plastric trim caps. This approach provides clean edges and strong nighttime brightness and is often used in shopping centers and high-traffic districts.

  • Trimmless

    Trimless letters eliminate the traditional trim cap, creating a smoother and more contemporary appearance with acrylic that runs to the edge of the letter face.

  • Fabricated

    Acrylic letter faces can be framed with custom cut and fabricated metal trim for a sleek, modern look. Often metallic or mirrored, these are commonly found in high-end shopping and pedestrian districts.

    BEVEL

Color-changing

Day/night transitional

Raceways

Custom-fabricated raceways provide a clean, secure mounting solution for channel letter signage, especially in high traffic areas where service access matters. Direct-to-façade

Direct-to-facade channel letter mounting creates a clean, architectural look by allowing each letter to appear individually integrated into the building surface.

This approach to LED channel letters, back lit channel letters, and halo lit channel letters requires careful pre-planning, as every letter needs its own electrical pass-through into the façade. When executed properly, it delivers a refined installation with minimal visible hardware and maximum visual impact.

Are channel letters worth the money?

LED channel letters consume significantly less power than older neon or fluorescent alternatives, which brings ongoing operating costs down. The aluminum construction resists corrosion, fading, and impact, so you're not replacing existing signage every few years. How difficult is channel letter installation, and do you handle it?
