What is a chaNnel letter?
Fabricated words & logos
A channel letter is a three-dimensional, individually fabricated letter or logo used in signage. Typically made from aluminum with an acrylic or metal face, many include internal LED lighting for a clean, even glow.
You’ll most often see channel letters on building exteriors like storefronts and office facades, but they’re also used indoors in lobbies, reception areas, and retail spaces as dimensional branding elements, with or without lighting.

Raceways
Custom-fabricated raceways provide a clean, secure mounting solution for channel letter signage, especially in high traffic areas where service access matters. Raceway installations reduce the number of electrical penetrations through the building and are often required by landlords or property managers.
OPA can fabricate raceways to precise client specifications and finish them to match your building, allowing the structure to blend seamlessly into architecture while protecting electrical components.
Backing panels
OPA can custom-fabricate channel letter backing panels in virtually any shape or size, allowing signage to align with brand elements or adapt to complex architectural features.
These backers can be painted, digitally printed, or enhanced with additional design elements such as complementary neon or LED piping, turning a simple letterset into a more dynamic storefront feature.
Direct-to-façade
Direct-to-facade channel letter mounting creates a clean, architectural look by allowing each letter to appear individually integrated into the building surface.
This approach requires careful pre-planning, as every letter needs its own electrical pass-through into the façade. When executed properly, it delivers a refined installation with minimal visible hardware and maximum visual impact.
Awnings & rail-mounted
