STEP 1

Define the vision & organize content

What story are you trying to tell? How will donor levels be recognized? Who needs to approve the final piece? Before design begins, we work with your team to understand the purpose of your campaign, its audience, and long-term goals of the recognition display. A sales representative will meet onsite, taking pictures and measurements of the room and building.

We also help organize and refine preliminary attribution copy, donor lists, and recognition hierarchy, moving your project closer to print-ready content.

STEP 2

Design the layout & refine details

OPA develops a scaled concept tailored to your space, budget, and brand. We incorporate your logos, fonts, colors, architectural finishes, and any visual references into realistic renderings so you can confidently evaluate the design before fabrication.

At the same time, we review and refine donor copy with your team. After the overall design is approved, we provide a final proof showing donor names, plaques, and attribution exactly as they will appear, giving stakeholders one last opportunity to verify every detail.

STEP 3

Fabricate, install & celebrate

Once final approvals are complete, your donor wall is fabricated in our New Orleans production facility using premium materials selected for your project. Our installation team ensures every plaque, panel, and architectural element is installed with precision, resulting in a recognition display that honors your supporters, complements your space, and is built to inspire future generations of donors.

Are channel letters worth the money?

LED channel letters consume significantly less power than older neon or fluorescent alternatives, which brings ongoing operating costs down. The aluminum construction resists corrosion, fading, and impact, so you're not replacing existing signage every few years. And because they're visible day and night, illuminated channel letters work around the clock to showcase your brand. Channel letters also tend to carry more visual authority to passersby.

How difficult is channel letter installation, and do you handle it?

Installing channel letters is more labor intensive than bolting letters to a wall. There's conduit routing, electrical connection, structural anchoring, and coordination with a building's existing systems or landlord requirements. Direct-mount installations require precise hole patterns drilled into the facade.

Can channel letters work for interior signage, or are they just for exteriors?

Channel letters are used indoors more often than people expect. Acrylic channel letters are popular for interior environments where a brand needs a dimensional, polished presence without the weatherproofing demands of an exterior sign.

Indoors, you have more flexibility with materials and finish without worrying about weather, including brushed metals, painted returns, custom colors, and even non-illuminated options that rely on ambient light or shadow to create depth. We design and install for both environments, and our team can help you think through which style and material makes the most sense for your space.
